Say Goodbye To These In Downtown Disney

Since its opening in 2001, Downtown Disney has had several shops and restaurants open and close as well as hotels over the past seventeen years. Sadly we will have to be saying goodbye to quite a few to make way for a new 700-room hotel that will cover seventeen acres of land and will include a monorail stop. The restaurants and shops that will be closing are: AMC Theatres, Rainforest Cafe, ESPN Zone, Earl of Sandwich, Alamo Rent-a-Car, Starbucks (west location), Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney Travel. The only two that will be moving locations are the Disney shops which will relocate somewhere else.

You have until June 30 to say goodbye to these shops and restaurants before the will be taken down during July. So stop by and order that volcano cake or watch your last movie before they are gone. Though I am sad to see such popular things go in Downtown Disney, I am excited to see what the new hotel has in store.
