Happy Birthday Disneyland!!!!

If you are a Disney nerd like me, than you will appreciate seeing actual footage of Disneyland on opening day, July 17, 1955. Now most of you might think that Disneyland started out amazing, but actually the opposite was true. On opening day, the concrete wasn't dry, it was over 100 degrees, and not drinking fountains worked. Not only that but Disney was expecting 15,000 guests and received almost double due to counterfeit tickets.

Though there were many complications on opening day, Walt didn't give up and eventually Disneyland received the title of the Happiest Place on Earth. And to think he arrived in California with a suitcase and $20 in his pocket. This leads me to believe that "All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them." -Walt Disney
